Bertazzoni PROF486GRTBXT Griddle Rangetop

On the PROF486GRTBXT, six sealed brass burners share a 48-inch Professional Series surface with an electric griddle. The griddle has its own heating element, apart from the gas burners, so the unit needs a gas line and an electrical connection. Like all rangetops, it is dropped into a counter and has no oven under it.
We treat the two halves separately. On the gas side we clean the ports, check cap fit and test the igniter at each burner. On the griddle side we measure the heating element, confirm the plate heats evenly and look at the grease channel, because a blocked channel backs grease under the plate. Gas odor means leaving the home and calling the gas utility.
A written price is given before we start, and our repairs have a 30-day workmanship warranty.
A weak heating element or a sensor that reads high can stretch the heat-up. We measure the element and test the sensor, and we also check the griddle's power connection.
Yes, the griddle is electric and independent of the gas burners. If the gas is off, the burners will not work, but the griddle should still heat.
Scrape the plate while it is warm, let grease drain into the tray and empty the tray regularly. Cold, solid grease is what blocks the channel.
