Bertazzoni MAST486GDFMXE Griddle Range Service

A griddle, six gas burners and an electric oven fill the 48-inch MAST486GDFMXE, a Master Series range for big kitchens and bigger meals. It is heavy and usually fixed in place with a hood overhead, so many of our checks happen without moving it.
The griddle and the burners nearest it take most of the grease, and the wiring to burners far from the module is the longest, so those are where delayed sparking begins. We clean, then test the spark at each position. In the oven we measure the temperature against the setting and test the bake element, then inspect the bottom of the door gasket, which takes the most abuse.
If you smell gas, leave and call the gas utility from outside.
The farthest burners have the longest wiring, and a dirty igniter weakens the spark there first. We clean the igniter, check the wire and test the module's output at that burner.
We watch the burner without the plate in place if the design allows, check its flame and ports, then look at plate seating and level. Most problems trace to the burner itself.
Often yes: the element, sensor and gasket are reachable from inside or the front. We only pull out the range if a rear panel or supply connection needs inspection.
