Bertazzoni PRO304CEMXV Ceran Electric Range Service

Bertazzoni’s Professional Series styling meets an electric glass cooktop in the PRO304CEMXV: four Ceran heating zones above an electric oven, all in a 30-inch freestanding body. It suits homes with no gas, and it takes a dedicated electric circuit behind it.
We find that cooktop complaints begin with the zone’s element or its control. A zone that heats weakly is tested for continuity and output, and the hot-surface light, which runs on its own sensing, is checked against the actual surface. Below the cooktop, we test the oven’s bake element and sensor. Burned-on sugar on the glass is also worth removing, because it can hold the pan away from the surface and weaken heat transfer.
If a zone sparks or smells burnt, switch off its breaker before calling. We give the price in writing before work starts, and the repair carries a 30-day workmanship warranty.
It is the glass-ceramic surface over the four heating zones. The heat comes from elements beneath it. When a zone cools, we test the element and control instead of the glass itself.
The light should go off when the glass cools. If it stays lit, the sensing circuit is not reading correctly. We test it and replace the part so the warning reflects the real surface temperature.
Sugar and sauces that burn onto the glass can pit it if left, and they also lift the pan off the surface. Clean with a scraper made for glass tops and a suitable cleaner, and let us know if you see cracks.
