On current Bertazzoni Professional, Master and Heritage ranges, such as the HER366BCFGMXT, smoke in the oven usually comes from cooking conditions. The questions are whether the right temperature was selected, whether you are cooking high-fat food, whether the grill is rarely used, whether fat was cooked under the grill, and whether the oven interior needs cleaning. The owner sees smoke from the vents or door.
1. Turn the oven off and open a window. 2. Let the oven cool, then remove pans. 3. Wipe spills and grease from the floor and walls. 4. Use a roasting pan with sides for fatty foods. 5. If smoke continues with a clean oven, call us.
Usually grease. High-fat food, a high cooking temperature, fat cooked under the grill or an oven interior that needs cleaning are the usual reasons for smoke on these ranges.
If there are flames, keep the door closed and turn the oven off. For plain smoke, switch the oven off, ventilate the room and open the door only once the smoke has eased.
If a clean, empty oven smokes or smells like burning plastic, stop using it and call us so we can find the cause before the next use.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
