What Condensation On Door Glass means

On current Bertazzoni Professional, Master and Heritage ranges and the PROF30FSEXV, PRO304BFGMXT and MAS304BFGMXT ovens, a little condensation is normal. Some moisture always evaporates from the food during cooking, and it condenses on any surface cooler than the inside of the oven, such as the control panel or door glass. Condensation is less likely when the oven has been pre-heated.

Common causes of Condensation On Door Glass

  • Moisture from food condensing on cooler glass or panel
  • Oven not pre-heated before the food went in
  • Door opened often, letting cool air onto the glass
  • Large or wet dishes producing extra steam
✓ One safe check you can try

1. Pre-heat the oven fully before putting food in. 2. Avoid opening the door more than you need to. 3. Cover very wet dishes where the recipe allows it. 4. Wipe the glass and the control panel with a soft dry cloth once the oven is off. 5. If water drips onto the floor or the controls, call us.

! Why to stop there
  • Condensation is not a repair item, and a visit would not change how food gives off moisture.
  • Water running into the controls is a different matter and should be checked.
  • Wiping hot glass with a wet cloth can crack it.
  • If moisture seems excessive, we check the door seal and quote in writing first.
Opening a panel yourself does not automatically cancel a manufacturer warranty, but it can cause accidental damage, and some manufacturers set their own service conditions. Check your warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.

Condensation On Door GlassCondensation On Door Glass questions
Is condensation on the door glass a defect?

No. Food gives off moisture as it cooks, and it condenses on cooler surfaces like the glass or the control panel. This is normal behavior for any oven.

How can I reduce condensation?

Pre-heat the oven before putting food in, because condensation is less likely when the oven is already hot. Also keep door openings short, and cover very wet dishes when the recipe allows it.

When should I worry about moisture near the controls?

If water runs down into the control panel or drips constantly, or the controls act strangely, switch the oven off and call us. We can check the door seal and the vent.
