MAS305GASXV

Bertazzoni MAS305GASXV Gas Range Service

Bertazzoni range

Most common issues on this model

  1. Big burner that never moves on to its outer ring
  2. Ragged flame once the caps have been put back turned the wrong way
  3. Broiler that takes a long time to light
  4. Oven that runs low as the gas valve wears
  5. Racks that drag when the optional glides are not installed

The MAS305GASXV is an all-gas Master Series range for the standard 30-inch freestanding space, with a gas shutoff behind or beside it. The big dual-ring burner gets the heaviest use, and it is also the one that suffers most from boiled-over sauces and misplaced caps.

When we arrive, we pull the caps and check how they sit, because a cap turned the wrong way is behind many odd flames. We light each MonoBloc burner, then step the power burner through both rings and watch the changeover. The simmer burner is run at its lowest setting.

In the oven, we time the bake burner and the infrared broiler to light and look at how the gas valve holds temperature. A gas smell means leaving the house and calling the gas utility from outside. Our price is always written before work starts.

MAS305GASXVMAS305GASXV questions
Why does my large burner only light on the inner ring?

The outer ring needs a clear port path and a working flame transfer. Grease and boiled-over food often block it. We clean the ports and caps and test the spark so both rings light and the flame transfers cleanly.

I put the burner caps back and now the flame looks uneven. Why?

Each cap is shaped for a particular burner base, and a cap that is rotated or swapped sits slightly off. We reseat each one correctly and clean the ports, which normally brings the flame back to an even ring.

My oven takes longer to reach temperature than it used to. Is the valve to blame?

It can be. As the oven gas valve ages, it may pass less gas or react slowly. We measure the pressure and the igniter, then test the sensor, and replace the valve only if the readings point to it.
