On the Bertazzoni DW24XT dishwasher, E8 means the distributary valve failed to find its position, with an open circuit or a break in the valve. The valve directs wash water to the different spray levels, so the dishwasher cannot move through its wash stages. The cycle stops and E8 appears on the display. This code belongs to the DW24XT, not to the other legacy models.
1. Press Cancel and let the dishwasher drain. 2. Open the door and check that nothing, such as a utensil, hangs down and blocks the lower spray arm. 3. Close the door firmly and run a short rinse cycle. 4. If E8 comes back, switch the dishwasher off and call us. Do not remove any panel.
This meaning belongs to the DW24XT. The DW24XV, the DW24PR and DW18PR, and the current Heritage and Professional models do not use E8 for this.
It sends wash water to the right spray arms in turn. If it cannot reach its starting position, the dishwasher cannot sequence the wash, so the control stops and shows E8.
You can try cutting power for a minute, but an open circuit will not heal itself. If E8 returns on the next start, the valve or its wiring needs a technician's test.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
