What CLEAN Light Flashing (Sound Off) means

On Bertazzoni DFS XT self-clean dual-fuel ranges with indicator lights, such as the MAS304DFSXT and PRO366DFSXT, the CLEAN light blinks with no sound when the selector has been moved out of the CLEAN position during the cycle. The oven can no longer follow the cleaning program because the knob no longer agrees with it. This is a knob position matter rather than a breakdown. The owner sees a quiet blinking light and a cycle that has stopped.

Common causes of CLEAN Light Flashing (Sound Off)

The selector knob bumped or turned away from CLEAN
The selector changed by mistake while checking on the cycle
The knob not resting fully in the CLEAN position

1. Wait for the oven to cool and the door to unlock before opening it. 2. Turn the selector back to CLEAN and see whether the light stops blinking. 3. Leave the knob alone for the rest of the cycle. 4. If the light keeps blinking with the selector in place, turn everything off and call us.

The door stays locked hot during cleaning, so opening it by force is a burn risk.
Repeated restarts of the clean cycle put extra strain on the door latch.

What does a silent blinking CLEAN light mean?

On the DFS XT ranges it tells you the selector was moved out of CLEAN during the cycle. Put it back in CLEAN, and the cycle can continue or be started again once the oven has settled.

Does this mean the oven is damaged?

No. The light reacts to the position of the knob and nothing else. Turn the knob back where it belongs and the blinking should stop, with the range otherwise working as before.

How is this different from the blinking light with a beep?

With the sound on, the same light points to a power failure during cleaning. A silent blink means the knob was moved; the beeping version means power was lost mid-cycle.
