HER486BTFEPXG is a 48-inch freestanding dual-fuel range from the Heritage Series, made in Italy. Six brass burners sit on top of a main oven with electric self-clean, an auxiliary electric oven shares the cabinet, and a cast-iron griddle plate is heated by an electric element beneath it. Gold-accented knobs and chrome trim give it a retro look.
With gas on top and electric below, one visit can touch both systems. We check the burner caps first because a cap that is not seated flat changes the flame. For the ovens we test the element, the temperature sensor and the door latch on each cavity separately, and the griddle gets its own element and thermostat test. If you ever smell gas, leave the house and call the gas utility from outside.
