On current Bertazzoni Professional, Master and Heritage ranges, such as the HER366BCFGMXT, a control knob that wobbles or slips off its shaft usually has a damaged retaining spring clip inside the knob. The guidance is to contact the service department for advice and a replacement if necessary. The owner feels a knob that turns loosely, pulls off easily or does not sit snug on the front panel.
1. Turn all burners and the oven off. 2. Pull the loose knob straight off and look at the metal clip inside for bending. 3. Push the knob back on straight and check whether it grips. 4. Do not use pliers or glue on the clip; call us for a replacement knob or clip.
Only if it still turns the valve and shuts it off every time. If it spins without engaging the shaft, stop using that burner until the clip or knob is replaced, because you could not turn the gas off.
Clips and knobs are model specific, so send us the model number and we will quote the matching part in writing before we order it. Fitting it takes only a short visit.
Pulling knobs off for cleaning is the common cause, because the spring clip stretches each time. Wipe them in place when possible, and replace the clip as soon as the knob loses its grip.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
