On Bertazzoni built-in freezer columns with a TFT display, such as the REF24FCIPRR, REF30FCIPIXL and REF18FCIPRL, the Check Cond message is a maintenance reminder that appears every 6 months. It asks you to clean the condenser. It is not a breakdown. The freezer keeps running, but a condenser coated with dust has to work harder to shed heat. The display shows the words Check Cond.
1. Open the grille or kick plate at the bottom of the column as shown for your model. 2. Vacuum the condenser and the grille with a soft brush attachment. 3. Keep fingers away from fan blades. 4. Replace the grille. 5. Make sure nothing blocks the air openings. If the reminder returns right away or the freezer runs warm, call us.
It comes up every 6 months as a reminder. After you clean the condenser, the display goes back to normal and the count starts again.
A vacuum with a soft brush is best. Avoid water and sharp tools, since the area has fins and wiring. Keep the freezer closed while you work.
Check that the door seals shut and that nothing blocks the vents inside. If it is still warm after a few hours, call us and we will test the cooling.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
