On Bertazzoni built-in wine columns with a TFT display, such as the REF24WCPIXR and REF18WCPRL, the message "Upper zone too cold" or "Lower zone too cold" shows when a zone is colder than the temperature you chose. The screen advises waiting 12 hours. If the message is still there after that, contact us. Wine is not at risk from a slightly cool zone, but a very cold zone should be checked.
1. Open the zone settings and compare the setpoint with what you want. 2. Raise it by one step. 3. Do not change anything else for 12 hours. 4. Put a thermometer among the bottles to see the actual temperature. 5. If the message persists after 12 hours, call us.
The screen says 12 hours. That gives the zone time to settle after a setting change or a door opening. If the message remains, a visit is the next step.
Slightly cold is not harmful. If the thermometer reads close to freezing, move the bottles, since a frozen bottle can push out the cork or crack.
The message names the upper or lower zone. Adjust only that zone. If both zones show it, there may be a shared cause, and we would check the control.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
