Bertazzoni HER486BTFEPXT Dual-Fuel Range Repair

At 48 inches wide, the HER486BTFEPXT is a Heritage Series dual-fuel range with six brass burners and a griddle on top and an electric self-clean oven below. Kitchens that have one usually have a wide opening, a strong hood and both a gas line and a 240-volt feed behind it.
We light every burner and look at the flame on each, then turn to the griddle to see whether it heats evenly from edge to edge. In the oven we test the temperature against a thermometer and cycle the self-clean latch, since that part takes the worst of the heat.
Gas smell? Leave the house and call the gas utility from outside. Our price is always given in writing before work begins.
Residue in the burner ports or a plate that does not sit flat can leave cold spots. We clean the ports, make sure the plate is level and seated, and relight the burner to confirm the heat spreads evenly.
The latch motor or its switch can stick after the very high heat of the cycle. Once the oven has cooled, we test the latch circuit and replace the part that fails, then run the lock and release again.
We put a thermometer in the center of the oven and compare it with the setting at a few temperatures. If the difference is steady, we test the sensor and replace it when it has drifted outside its range.
