Bertazzoni KG30X Glass-Front Hood Service

KG30X is the glass-front version of Bertazzoni’s 30-inch wall-mount hood, with a single 600 CFM motor behind the panel. Homeowners usually mount it over a freestanding range or a 30-inch rangetop, centered on the cooking surface.
The glass face looks clean when it is new, but it shows every splash of oil, and the same oil is collecting inside on the filters and the fan. When these hoods get noisy we check how the glass panel is seated first, since a loose edge can sound like a motor problem. Then we pull the filters, inspect the blower wheel for buildup, and test the lamps and the control panel.
We quote the repair in writing before any work starts and stand behind it for 30 days.
A mild, non-abrasive cleaner on a soft cloth is fine for the outside of the glass. Keep spray away from the control panel and the seams, and never let liquid run into the motor housing.
High speed puts the most force on the blower wheel, so any imbalance or loose fastener shows up there. We check the wheel for grease, tighten the mounting hardware, and confirm the glass panel is not vibrating in its frame.
Lights and fan share the control panel but not the same circuit. We test the speed switch and the wiring to the motor, then check whether the motor itself turns freely by hand before deciding on a repair.
