When an induction zone slows down or pauses while you cook, several simple things can be the cause before you suspect a broken part.
Induction cooktops are known for their speed. When a pot that used to boil in minutes now crawls, or a zone seems to pause and restart, there is usually a reason you can narrow down.
Many induction cooktops share electricity between zones that sit close together. When you run two zones at a high setting, the unit may lower one to stay inside its limits. This is by design. Try cooking on zones that are farther apart, or lower the setting on one.
Electronics under the glass are protected by a cooling fan. If the unit gets too warm, it reduces power or pauses. Blocked vents, a very hot kitchen in July, or a pan left empty can all trigger this. Let it cool and see whether performance returns.
If you see any of those, switch the unit off at the breaker if you are comfortable doing so, and avoid cooking on it. Induction hardware is electrical and sealed. It is not a place for guesswork or for removing screws.
When you call, tell us which zone it is, what pans you use, and what was running on the other zones. That short list saves time at the visit.

A technician will test the zone with known cookware at your home, explain the finding in plain words, and present the cost in writing before anything else happens.
