On Bertazzoni professional induction cooktops in the PE..INDXV range, such as the PE244INDXV, PE304INDXV and PE365INDXV, a small u with a pan symbol means no suitable cookware was identified on the zone. The zone will not heat. Place suitable cookware in the middle of the zone, and the cooktop will detect it and begin heating. The symbol appears where the power level would normally show.
1. Turn the zone off. 2. Center a flat magnetic pan on the zone marking. 3. Check the pan with a magnet. 4. Turn the zone on again. 5. Wipe the glass clean and dry so the pan sits flat. 6. If the symbol stays with a good pan, call us.
It tells you the cooktop did not find cookware it can heat. Putting a suitable pan in the middle of the zone normally makes the symbol disappear.
Some stainless pans have a non-magnetic base. Hold a magnet to the bottom. If it sticks firmly, the pan will work. If it does not, choose a different pan.
The zone will not heat without a pan. When you place a suitable pan in the middle, the cooktop detects it and heats. If nothing happens, call us.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
