On Bertazzoni professional induction cooktops such as the PE244INDXV, PE304INDXV and PE365INDXV, unresponsive touch controls usually mean the control is locked, because the key lock has been activated. Controls that are only difficult to operate are usually wet, with a slight film of water on them, or being touched with the tip of the finger. Unlocking the panel or using the ball of your finger is the answer.
1. Unlock the control panel using the key lock control. 2. Dry the touch area with a soft cloth. 3. Press with the ball of your finger rather than the tip. 4. If the keys still ignore you after unlocking and drying, call us.
A locked panel ignores normal touches while the cooktop is otherwise alive. Use the key lock control to unlock it. This is the first thing to try when everything seems unresponsive.
The touch sensors respond to a broader contact area. The tip of the finger is small, so presses may not register, especially when the glass has a slight film of water on it.
If the panel is unlocked, dry and pressed with the ball of the finger, and the keys still do not respond, the touch circuit may be failing. We would test it and quote the repair first.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
