On the Bertazzoni CM242WTXT built-in coffee machine, this message means the water softener filter is exhausted. The display asks you to replace it and press OK to start the changeover. A spent filter no longer softens the water, so scale builds faster and the flavor can suffer. Owners see the prompt after a set amount of water has passed through the cartridge.
1. Remove the old softener filter from the water tank. 2. Fit the new filter as shown in its instructions. 3. Refill the tank with fresh water and press OK to start. 4. If the message returns after replacement, call us.
The OK press tells the machine a fresh filter is in, so it resets its count and runs a short rinse. Without it, the old count keeps triggering the message.
You can for a short time, but the water is no longer being softened. Scale then builds faster, and descaling will be needed more often.
It can. A bubble in the circuit with a filter fitted may give slow or missing coffee flow. Running the rinse after the changeover usually pushes the air out.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
