On Bertazzoni French-door refrigerators including the REF36FDFZXNT, REF36FDFIXNV and RFD36FZNX, E7 refers to the ambient temperature sensor, the probe that reads the air temperature of your kitchen. The REF36FDFZXNT reports that sensor as failed, with the code shown in locked mode and an alarm chime. On the other platforms the unit still cools and freezes. This sensor supports the control's room-temperature adjustments rather than a particular compartment.
1. Silence the chime with any button on the REF36FDFZXNT. 2. Check that the kitchen is a normal temperature and that no heat source sits next to the cabinet. 3. Make sure the vents around the appliance are clear. 4. Restart at the breaker after one minute. 5. If E7 returns, call us.
It tells the control how warm the room is, so the cooling and the door heaters can adjust. A bad reading can cause extra condensation on the cabinet, or a slightly off temperature.
Warm air nearby only changes the reading. E7 appears when the sensor or its connection is not delivering a reading at all, so we look at the sensor and its wiring.
No. The appliance still cools. Book a visit when convenient and we will measure the sensor, replace it if needed, and quote you the price first.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
