On Bertazzoni REF30/36BMBI bottom-mount refrigerators, such as the REF30BMBIPRT, and on columns and the RFD36FZNX, Sabbath Mode keeps the appliance cooling while the lights and the display stop working. If you see a dark display and no interior lights but the food is cold, the appliance was probably put into Sabbath Mode by accident. It is a user setting, not a breakdown.
1. Check that the interior is cold and the compressor is running before you assume a failure. 2. Wake the touchscreen and look for the Sabbath Mode setting. 3. Turn the mode off using the same control that turned it on. 4. Wait a minute for the display and lights to come back. 5. Confirm that the interior lights turn on when the door opens.
Not if the food is still cold. In Sabbath Mode the cooling continues while the lights and display are off by design. Turn the mode off to get them back.
Use the touchscreen setting that turned it on. On the columns it is in the settings menu. If the screen will not respond to touch, call us rather than pressing harder.
If Sabbath Mode is off and the lights or display still stay dark, or the screen does not respond at all, the control or the lighting needs a check. We cover that with a 30-day workmanship warranty.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
