On Bertazzoni 30-inch combi-steam ovens, DEP (MAST30CSEX and PROF30CSEX) or EMP (MASCS30X and PROCS30X) means water has been pumped back into the tank after cooking. Take out the tank, empty it and dry it. The same message also appears if you begin a new cycle without emptying the tank first. It is a normal housekeeping message, not a breakdown. The oven will not mind a short wait, but dry the tank before the next steam cycle.
1. Wait until the oven finishes pumping and cools. 2. Pull out the water tank and pour out the water. 3. Dry the tank with a clean cloth. 4. Slide it back in before the next steam program. 5. If DEP or EMP returns every time even after emptying, call us.
The MAST30CSEX and PROF30CSEX show DEP, while the MASCS30X and PROCS30X show EMP. Both mean the same thing: empty and dry the tank. Whichever word appears, the routine for the tank is identical: remove, pour out, dry, replace.
Yes. After cooking with steam the oven pumps its water back into the tank, and emptying and drying it prevents scale and odors. Starting a new cycle without doing so brings the message back.
If you emptied it and seated it correctly, a sensor or pump may not be registering. Book a visit and we will test it. Please tell us which word you see and whether it appears at start or end of a cycle.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
