On Bertazzoni 30-inch combi-steam ovens, including the MAST30CSEX, PROF30CSEX, MASCS30X and PROCS30X, VAP appears when the steam-reduction function is working. It runs when the door is opened, or at the end of cooking, to lower the amount of steam in the cavity. It is a normal function and the oven needs no action from you. Wait for it to finish before reaching in, because the cavity still holds hot vapor.
1. Wait with the door closed until VAP ends. 2. Step back slightly when you open the door afterward. 3. Wipe condensation from the door glass with a dry cloth. 4. Close the door fully and see whether VAP clears. 5. If VAP stays on, call us.
No. It tells you that the oven is reducing steam. Let it finish before opening the door wide to take out the food. The word usually disappears within a short time on its own.
The oven reduces steam when the door opens during or after a program, to protect you from a rush of hot vapor. That is also why the glass fogs briefly. A dry cloth clears it once the cavity has aired out.
If it stays on with the oven off and cool, the door switch or the steam control may be at issue. Call us and we will test it.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
