The KIN46PROX is a 46-inch insert hood with two motors that add up to 1000 CFM. The unusual width suits custom kitchens where the hood surround is sized to the cooking wall, often over a large range or a rangetop with extra burners.
At this width, the two motors sit a good distance apart, so we treat the hood as two fans behind one panel. A service visit starts by running both and noting which one hesitates or hums. We clean the filters, inspect each wheel, and test the capacitors and wiring that feed each motor. If the vibration travels through the woodwork, we also check the mounting brackets.
