Bertazzoni KTI48XT 48-Inch Island Hood

KTI48XT is the 48-inch T-shape island hood, a single-motor model with a maximum extraction power of 600 CFM and a sound rating of 2.5 to 9.5 Sones.
It usually hangs over a 48-inch range set into an island, where the cook is surrounded by open space. At that width, any loss of airflow is clear. We check the filters, the wheel and the motor in that order. Because the chimney is suspended, we also look at the ceiling mount and the stability of the chimney while the fan runs at its highest speed. We also check the chimney sleeves to be sure they slide freely and are not rubbing.
Every job begins with a written price, and our work carries a 30-day workmanship warranty.
A little hum is common, but visible shaking is not. Vibration can come from an unbalanced wheel or loose fasteners. We check the ceiling mount and the wheel before it can work loose further.
Cross drafts, an unbalanced airflow, or clogged filters can all push steam sideways. We clean the filters and test the motor, and we can point out where the room airflow may be competing with the hood.
Typically they release from underneath the canopy with a latch or a lift-and-slide motion. Hold them as you release them, since they can be heavy with grease.
