PRO244GASXV

Bertazzoni PRO244GASXV Gas Range Service

Bertazzoni range

Most common issues on this model

  1. Power burner that lights, then goes out when you let go
  2. Simmer flame that goes ragged after spills reach the ports
  3. Oven that cannot hold temperature as the sensor wears
  4. Convection fan bearing making noise
  5. Door glass working loose in its frame

The PRO244GASXV is a 24-inch Professional Series gas range, a small footprint with a 19,000 BTU dual-ring burner that suits city kitchens, condos and tight remodels. It is also built in a LP-gas version, so one of the first things we confirm is which fuel the range is set up for.

We light each sealed burner and then run the power burner through both rings. Flame that drops out as soon as you let go of the knob usually means the safety sensing is not holding, and a ragged simmer flame tells us the ports have taken in spills.

In the 2.5 cu ft oven, we measure temperature against the setting, listen to the single convection fan, and test the door glass for play in its frame. Never ignore a gas smell. Leave the house and call the gas utility from outside, and then book us.

PRO244GASXVPRO244GASXV questions
Why does my large burner go out when I release the knob?

The flame-sensing safety part has to heat up and hold the valve open. If the burner is dirty or the part is weak, it releases. We clean the burner head and test the safety part before replacing it.

The simmer flame looks ragged. What causes it?

Spilled sauce or cleaner residue gets into the small ports and breaks up the flame. We take off the cap, clean each port, and reseat the cap, which normally returns the simmer to a steady ring.

Does the LP-gas version need different parts?

Yes. LP ranges use different orifices and pressure settings than natural gas. We confirm the fuel the range is set up for before any gas repair, so the burners are adjusted to match what is connected.
