Bertazzoni PROF304CEMXE Electric Range Repair

The PROF304CEMXE is a 30-inch all-electric Professional Series range with a ceramic radiant top. It needs no gas line at all, which is why it appears in houses and condos that run on electricity only. It is older now, so wear shows first on the surface and in the oven sensor.
On the cooktop we check each of the four elements for even glow and measure resistance on any that look weak. We look at the glass for scratches and cracks, especially around the heavier pots, because a crack can allow moisture to the wiring. The oven temperature is then compared with a thermometer.
The convection fan is run and listened to. You receive a written price before work, and a 30-day workmanship warranty covers what we do.
The element may have a worn section or poor contact with the glass. We measure its resistance, inspect the connections, and replace the element if the reading is off.
Light scratches are cosmetic, but a crack means the glass should be replaced. We inspect the top, check that no moisture reached the wiring, and fit a new glass panel if the crack goes through.
On an older range the sensor commonly drifts. We read the oven with a separate thermometer and test the sensor resistance, then replace the sensor if it reads outside the range.
