On current Bertazzoni Professional, Master and Heritage gas ranges, such as the MAS366BCFGMXT, every burner has a flame failure device fitted as standard. After lighting the burner, the knob must be kept pressed in for a few seconds so the device can be deactivated and hold the gas valve open. If the knob is let go too soon, the flame dies. The owner sees a burner that lights and then goes out.
1. Light the burner and hold the knob pressed in for a slow count of ten before releasing. 2. Check that the burner cap and ring are seated flat and the ports are free of food. 3. If the cooktop was just cleaned or a pot boiled over, dry the burner parts completely. 4. If you smell gas at any time, leave the house and call the gas utility from outside. 5. If the flame still dies after a longer hold, stop using that burner and call us.
A few seconds after the flame appears. Counting to about ten is a safe habit. This gives the flame failure device time to warm up and keep the gas valve open when you let go.
Usually not. It is how the flame safety works. If the burner still goes out after a long hold with clean, dry parts, the safety device or igniter may need attention.
Leave the house right away and call the gas utility from outside. Do not turn on lights or use the phone inside. We can work on the range once the utility says it is safe.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
