On Bertazzoni DFS XT dual-fuel ranges, such as the MAS304DFSXT and PRO366DFSXT, a burner that ignites but shows a large, distorted or yellow flame points to clogged burner ports, or to a range that is not set for the gas type supplied. The range may need a gas conversion done by a qualified technician. The owner sees an uneven, lazy yellow flame instead of a steady blue one.
1. Turn the burner off and let it cool. 2. Remove the cap and ring and clean the ports with a soft brush or toothpick, then dry them. 3. Reassemble and seat everything flat. 4. If the flame is still yellow or uneven, stop using that burner and call us. 5. If you smell gas at any point, leave the house and call the gas utility from outside.
On these ranges the cause is clogged ports or the wrong gas setting. Clean and dry the burner first. If it stays yellow, the gas type setup should be checked.
Only if the range was set for natural gas and you use propane, or the reverse. That conversion has to be done by a qualified technician; we do it and quote the price in writing first.
It can produce carbon monoxide, so stop using the burner if cleaning does not fix it. Ventilate the kitchen and, if you smell gas, leave and call the gas utility from outside.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
