On Bertazzoni DFS XT self-clean dual-fuel ranges with indicator lights, such as the MAS486GDFSXT and PRO304DFSXT, a HEATING light that blinks together with an alarm reports an oven temperature probe failure. When it happens the cooling fans start automatically. The oven cannot read its own temperature, so it cannot hold a setting. The owner sees the blinking light, hears the beeping and may notice the fans running.
1. Turn the selector and temperature knob to OFF and let the oven cool. 2. Open the door slightly to help it cool, then close it. 3. Restart with a short bake to see whether the alarm returns. 4. If it does, stop using the oven and call us.
It measures the oven temperature so the control can hold your setting. If it fails, the control cannot regulate heat and raises the alarm to protect the oven.
On this alarm the cooling fans start automatically to protect the controls and cabinet while the oven cools. That is expected and not a second problem.
The gas burners are separate from the oven, but if the alarm persists we suggest limiting use until the oven is checked. We give a written price first.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
