E2 carries different meanings on Bertazzoni cooktops. On the professional PE..INDXV series, such as the PE304INDXV, it means the voltage is too high, above 285V, so check the power supply. On the legacy P365IAE and P304IAE, the hob is overheated, so let it cool and turn it on again. On the TFT and hidden-slider models such as the PE304TX, it reports overtemperature and a switch-off.
1. Switch the cooktop off and let it cool before trying again. 2. Check that vents and the space below are not blocked. 3. On the PE..INDXV, have the supply voltage checked if the code returns. 4. If E2 comes back after cooling, call us with your model number.
Look at the model. PE..INDXV means voltage above 285V. P304IAE and P365IAE mean an overheated hob. TFT and hidden-slider cooktops report overtemperature. The model plate tells you which applies.
Switch the cooktop off, wait for it to cool and turn it on again. Keep ventilation paths clear and cook at lower power if it was hot. Repeated E2 after cooling needs a technician.
Voltage above 285V is far outside normal, so have the supply checked before using the cooktop. That is work for a licensed electrician rather than a quick homeowner fix.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
