Bertazzoni Cooktop H on the Display: Residual Heat Indicator

What H means

On Bertazzoni professional induction cooktops such as the PE244INDXV, PE304INDXV and PE365INDXV, and on TFT and hidden-slider cooktops, an H appears for each cooking zone that has been used and is still hot enough to cause burns. The H stays lit until the cooktop has cooled. On the induction rangetop PRO36RT5ICAT it shows until the zone drops below about 140°F (60°C). It is a warning, not an error.

Common causes of H

A zone that was recently used and is still hot
Heat conducted back from a hot pan into the glass
A normal indicator that simply has not cooled enough to go out

✓ One safe check you can try

1. Keep hands, cloths and plastic away from any zone showing H. 2. Wait for the H to go out before cleaning the glass. 3. Do not store anything on a cooktop that still shows H. 4. If H stays lit after several hours, with the cooktop off and cool, call us.

How long does H stay on?

It stays lit until the zone has cooled. On the induction rangetop, that means until the temperature falls below about 140°F (60°C). Larger pans and longer cooking times mean it lingers longer.

Does H mean something is wrong?

No. It is a residual heat indicator that warns you the area has been used and can still burn. It is normal to see it for some time after you turn a zone off.

Why does H show on a zone I did not use?

Heat can spread across the glass from a hot pan on a neighboring zone. If H shows on a clearly unused, cold cooktop for hours, let us look at it.
