On Bertazzoni radiant (Hi-light) ceramic cooktops in the PE..CER range, such as the PE304CER and PE244CER, Fd is an On/Off LED error. The control detected a problem with the LED that goes with the On/Off touch key. As a protection, all heaters are switched off and locked, so the cooktop will not start cooking until the control is repaired. Nothing on the cooktop will respond to the heater keys.
1. Make sure all heater controls are off and the glass is cool. 2. Dry the touch panel with a soft cloth. 3. Switch the cooktop off at its breaker for one minute, then on. 4. Touch On/Off once. 5. If Fd shows again and the heaters stay locked, call us.
The On/Off light tells you whether the cooktop is active. If the control cannot confirm that light, it shuts everything off so you cannot cook without knowing the state of the cooktop.
Rarely. Damp glass can disturb the touch controls, so dry it first, but a real Fd that returns after drying points to the touch control itself.
No. Fd is the On/Off LED error and Fr is a touch relay failure. Both lock the heaters on the PE..CER models, but they involve different parts of the touch control.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
