On legacy Bertazzoni induction cooktops such as the P304IX and P365IX, you switch the cooktop on and only one side heats. The official explanation is an internal problem with the unit, and the instruction is to contact a service agent. Owners notice that the zones on one half of the cooktop respond normally while the other half stays cold, no matter which pan or setting they try.
1. Check that the breaker for the cooktop is fully on. 2. Try a magnetic pan of proper size on a zone from each side. 3. Switch everything off and wait a minute before trying again. 4. If one side still stays cold, stop using the cooktop and call us.
Only if you tested one pan on one side. Put the same magnetic pan on a zone from each half. If one side heats it and the other does not, the cooktop has an internal problem.
It is not an immediate hazard, but we would rather you did not rely on a cooktop that is partly out. A supply problem could get worse, so a technician should check it soon.
A breaker that is off would normally leave the whole cooktop dead. Because one side works, look to the internal circuits that serve each half, which is where we start our testing.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
