On Bertazzoni 30-inch combi-steam ovens, including the MAST30CSEX, PROF30CSEX, MASCS30X and PROCS30X, the Descale light tells you about scale in the steam generator. A steady light means descaling is needed. A flashing light means it is overdue. If it is left alone, the oven eventually locks and shows CAL blinking, so run the descaling program soon after the light first comes on.
1. Empty and rinse the water tank. 2. Prepare the descaling solution in the amount the oven's instructions require. 3. Start the descaling program from the menu and leave the oven alone until it ends. 4. Rinse the tank and run clear water through as instructed. 5. If the light stays on after a full cycle, call us.
Steady means descaling is needed, flashing means it is overdue. You can still cook for a while on flashing, but the next stage is a locked oven with CAL blinking.
The oven decides by counting use and water hardness, so follow the light instead of a calendar. In hard-water areas it can come on after fewer cycles than you would guess.
The counter may not have registered the finished cycle, or scale remains. Run the program once more with the correct solution and a fully filled tank. If it persists, a technician can check the system.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
