On Bertazzoni 30-inch combi-steam ovens such as the MAST30CSEX, PROF30CSEX, MASCS30X and PROCS30X, rES means the water tank has been removed or has not been inserted properly. Without the tank in place, the oven cannot make steam. Push the tank in until it seats firmly and the message clears. The word appears on the display in place of the usual cooking information, and steam functions stay unavailable until the tank is detected. Check the slot for stray drops of water before reseating the tank, because moisture can hide the contact.
1. Pull the tank out and dry the slot and the tank connector. 2. Check the tank for cracks or loose parts. 3. Slide it back until it clicks into place. 4. Wait a few seconds for rES to clear. 5. If it stays, call us.
Usually not. It means the oven does not see the tank in place. Reseat it firmly and the message clears in most cases. Check that the tank is dry underneath and that nothing is caught in the slot.
A wet or dirty connector, or a sensor that does not register the tank, may be the reason. Dry the slot first. If that fails, book a visit.
The tank is needed for the steam functions. For a dry cooking mode, check whether the oven accepts it with rES shown, and if not, seat the tank first.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
