On Bertazzoni refrigerator columns with a TFT display, such as the REF18FCBIPRV, REF24FCBIPNV and REF18FCBIPLV, "Door Fridge OPEN" appears a few minutes after the refrigerator door has been opened and not closed. The message tells you the fridge door is not shut. The owner sees the text on the display, and the cold air is escaping into the kitchen while it stays up.
1. Close the refrigerator door firmly and wait a moment. 2. Check that bins and shelves are not blocking it. 3. Look at the seal for gaps, folds or crumbs and wipe it with warm water. 4. If the message stays with the door closed, call us.
The door is not fully closed or the unit does not sense it as closed. The message appears a few minutes after the door was opened.
Check for an item in the way and clean the seal. A door that bounces back open may need its alignment looked at, and we can do that on a visit.
Not in a few minutes, but a door left open for hours will warm the food past a safe temperature. Close it and check the temperature display after an hour.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
