What F8 means

On current Bertazzoni Heritage, Professional and Master dishwashers such as the DW24T3IXV, DW24S2IPV and DW18S2IXV, F8 means a heater error. The dishwasher is not heating water the way the cycle needs, and the recommended step is to contact service. The cycle stops with F8 showing, and dishes may be left wet with food still on them because the water stayed cool.

Common causes of F8

  • Heating element burned out or open
  • Wiring or connector to the heater loose
  • Control board not switching the heater on
  • Thermal protection on the heater tripped
✓ One safe check you can try

1. Press Cancel and let the dishwasher drain. 2. Open the door and see if the water and inside are warm after a short run. 3. Reset by switching the breaker off for one minute and on again. 4. Run one short cycle. 5. If F8 comes back, leave the dishwasher off and call us.

! Why to stop there
  • A dishwasher that does not heat leaves grease on dishes and can cause odors.
  • The element is near line voltage connections beneath the tub.
  • Without testing, a bad element can be mistaken for a sensor or board problem.
  • We give a written price before work, and the repair is covered for 30 days.
Opening a panel yourself does not automatically cancel a manufacturer warranty, but it can cause accidental damage, and some manufacturers set their own service conditions. Check your warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.

F8F8 questions
How do I know F8 is a heater problem?

The code names it directly as a heater error. The dishwasher may fill and wash, but the water will not be warm, and the control stops the cycle.

What is the difference between F6 and F8?

F6 refers to the heater sensor, which reads temperature. F8 refers to the heater itself. A technician checks both because one can look like the other.

Can I keep washing by running hot tap water into it?

Running hot tap water into the dishwasher does not fix F8 and may not let the cycle finish. Call us to test the heating circuit.
