On the Bertazzoni CM242WTXT built-in coffee machine, this message means the machine must be descaled. Limescale has built up with use, and the display asks you to press OK to begin the descaling program, which takes about 45 minutes. Until you run it, the machine keeps showing the prompt and may keep you from brewing. Owners see the text on the screen and little else.
1. Empty the drip tray and the grounds container before you begin. 2. Fill the water tank with fresh water mixed with a descaling product made for coffee machines. 3. Press OK and stay nearby; the program runs about 45 minutes. 4. Rinse the tank, refill it with fresh water and brew a test cup. If the message returns right away, call us.
The message itself says about 45 minutes. The machine needs that time to run solution through the water circuit and rinse it out, so start it when you will not need coffee.
You can for a short time, but scale slows the water flow and makes the machine work harder. It is best to run the cycle soon and keep the water filter fresh.
Make sure the cycle ran to the end and the tank was refilled with fresh water. If the prompt still returns, the machine may not have completed the program, and we would check it.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
