Bertazzoni MAS486GGASXV Gas Range Service

The MAS486GGASXV is a 48-inch all-gas Master Series range that also has an electric griddle, so the kitchen needs a gas supply and a plain household outlet for the griddle. It is generally installed as the centerpiece of a restaurant-style home kitchen where the hood and gas line were sized for it.
Because the griddle is electric, a cold griddle with a perfectly good cooktop is a quick clue that the issue is electrical, not the gas. We test the griddle’s heating element and thermostat. We also check that the two power burners light in both rings and that the stainless cover opens without binding.
In the ovens we compare the auxiliary thermostat with the main oven using a probe, and we look at the long infrared broiler for uneven ignition. The big door gets its hinges checked for sag. Step outside and call the gas utility if you ever smell gas.
The griddle is electric and runs on its own element and thermostat, apart from the gas system. We check power to the griddle, then test the element and thermostat to find which one has failed.
The two ovens have their own thermostats, and one can drift. We measure each cavity with a thermometer and calibrate or replace the sensor in the one that is off.
Large doors put a lot of load on the hinges. We inspect the hinge arms and springs, replace worn ones, and check the door gasket so heat stays inside once the door is square again.
Book in about a minute, or call the desk. Same-day windows inside the Loop on most days, next-day across the rest of Houston.
