The Q30400X is a 30-inch drop-in gas cooktop with a low edge and four burners, from the Professional Series. The low profile sits close to the counter, which keeps the look clean and makes the surface easy to wipe, but there is less of a rim to hold back a boil-over.
That is why we check the area around the burners for dried-on food. Spills can run toward the igniters or into the gaps near the knobs. We clean the caps and ports, test each spark and look at the flame. If a knob feels loose or stiff, we examine the stem and valve below it. Four burners are easy to test one after another, so we run each through its full range.
