What E8 means

On the legacy Bertazzoni induction cooktops P304IAE and P365IAE, E8 means the air inlet of the ventilator is obstructed. The instruction is to release it. Without clear airflow the cooktop cannot cool itself, so it stops heating. Owners see E8 after storing items below the cooktop or after the intake gets covered. The display shows E8 and the zones go cold.

Common causes of E8

  • Something blocking the ventilator air inlet
  • Items stored too close beneath the cooktop
  • Dust or debris restricting the intake
✓ One safe check you can try

1. Switch the cooktop off and let it cool. 2. Remove anything stored near or under the cooktop that could cover the intake. 3. Clear any visible dust or debris from the opening you can reach safely. 4. Turn it back on; if E8 returns, call us.

! Why to stop there
  • Restricted airflow can overheat the electronics, so the cooktop shuts itself down.
  • A fan or sensor that still reports a blocked inlet needs testing.
  • We give a written price first, and our work has a 30-day workmanship warranty.
Opening a panel yourself does not automatically cancel a manufacturer warranty, but it can cause accidental damage, and some manufacturers set their own service conditions. Check your warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.

E8E8 questions
Where is the air inlet?

It is the opening that lets the ventilator draw cooling air through the cooktop. It sits under the unit, so cabinet contents or installation spacing can block it.

Is E8 about heat or airflow?

It is about airflow. The ventilator inlet is blocked, so cooling air cannot reach the electronics. Clearing it lets the cooktop cool and run again.

What if nothing is blocking it?

Then the fan or its sensing may be wrong. If E8 shows with a clear inlet, we would inspect the ventilator and the cooktop. Clear it first.
