What No pan symbol means

On current Bertazzoni induction cooktops with TFT and hidden-slider controls, such as the PE304TX, PE365TB, PE304TC, PE304HB and PE365HB, the no pan symbol means the pan has been removed from the cooking zone. The zone stops heating when there is no cookware on it. This is normal behavior and the symbol disappears when suitable cookware is placed back on the zone.

Common causes of No pan symbol

  • Pan lifted off the cooking zone
  • Pan moved partly off the zone
  • Cookware not suitable for induction
  • Pan too small for the zone
✓ One safe check you can try

1. Place a flat-bottomed, magnetic pan back in the center of the lit zone. 2. Check that the pan covers the zone marking. 3. Try a magnet on the bottom of the pan. If it does not stick, use a different pan. 4. Wipe the glass clean and dry. 5. If the symbol stays with a good pan in place, call us.

! Why to stop there
  • The symbol is the cooktop doing what it should when a pan leaves the zone.
  • Cookware is the usual cause, not the cooktop.
  • A cooktop that still shows the symbol with a good pan needs its sensing tested.
  • Our written price comes first, and the repair has a 30-day warranty.
Opening a panel yourself does not automatically cancel a manufacturer warranty, but it can cause accidental damage, and some manufacturers set their own service conditions. Check your warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.

No pan symbolNo pan symbol questions
Is the no pan symbol an error?

No. It tells you that the pan is gone from the zone, so the heating stopped. Putting suitable cookware back usually clears the symbol at once.

Why does it show when my pan is on the zone?

The pan may be off center, too small, or not magnetic. Try a flat magnetic pan centered over the zone marking. If that fails, we can check the zone.

Does the cooktop keep heating the zone with no pan?

No. Induction only heats when cookware is present, so the zone stops heating when the pan is removed. Put suitable cookware back on the zone and the symbol goes away.
