On the legacy Bertazzoni induction cooktop P365IME and the radiant PE244CER and PE304CER, FU is a security key error in the divisor, one of the circuits that the control uses to read the keys. The heaters are off and locked, the display shows FU, and the zones stay cold, and the cooktop belongs to the same F-letter family as FA, FC, FJ, FL and Fb.
1. Lift off anything that is covering the controls. 2. Clean and dry the glass around the keys. 3. Switch the cooktop off at the breaker for about a minute, then back on. 4. Should FU come back, leave the cooktop off and book a visit with us.
FA, FC, FJ, FL, FU and Fb are all key or keyboard errors. On the PE..CER each letter names a different part of the key circuit, and FU is the divisor.
Not safely. The official first steps are to keep objects, dirt and liquid off the commands and to remove and restore the power. Anything beyond that means opening the cooktop.
Frequently yes, once the cause is cleared. If FU keeps coming back, the circuit that reads the keys needs repair, and we would test it and quote the cost first.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
