On Bertazzoni legacy dishwashers in the DW24XV, DW24XT, DW24PR and DW18PR families, E1 is a water inlet warning. On the DW24XV and DW24XT it means the fill time ran longer than expected because the faucet is not open, the water intake is restricted or the water pressure is too low. On the DW24PR and DW18PR the flow meter did not detect the set amount of water within 4 minutes. The cycle stops with E1 on the display.
1. Press Cancel and wait for the drain to finish. 2. Open the shutoff valve under the sink all the way. 3. Check that the fill hose behind the dishwasher is not bent or crushed. 4. Run the kitchen faucet for a moment to confirm normal pressure. 5. Start a short cycle again. If E1 returns, leave the dishwasher off and call us.
It means the machine did not take in water as quickly as it should. Either the supply is closed or restricted, the pressure is low, or the part that meters the water is not reporting a proper fill.
It covers the 24-inch and 18-inch legacy machines sold in the US, such as the DW24XV, DW24XT, DW24PR and DW18PR. Newer Heritage dishwashers report a water inlet problem with FF instead.
Not until the fill problem is cleared. Check the faucet valve and hose first. If the code comes back on the next start, we can trace the inlet path for you and give a written price first.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
