On Bertazzoni knob-controlled 30-inch electric wall ovens such as the F30PROXV, F30CONXV and FD30PROXV, and on DFS XT dual-fuel ranges, an oven door that stays locked after the oven has cooled is usually a latch that did not release. The oven should reset itself after the power is cut for a short time at the circuit breaker. The oven itself is cool, but the handle will not move.
1. Turn both oven selectors to OFF. 2. Make sure the oven is fully cool. 3. Turn the oven off at the circuit breaker and wait 5 minutes. 4. Turn the breaker back on. The oven should reset itself. 5. Try the door gently. If it is still locked, call us and do not force it.
Make sure the oven is cool, then cut power at the breaker for 5 minutes. Turning it back on lets the oven reset itself and release the latch.
The latch locks during cleaning for safety. If a cycle ends abnormally or power flickers, it may not get the signal to release when the oven cools.
Do not pry at it. Leave the oven off and call us. The latch or the control may need a test, and we give you a written price before any work.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
