Bertazzoni French-Door Refrigerator Code E2: Freezer Compartment Sensor

What E2 means

On the Bertazzoni REF36FDFZXNT with Quattro Temp Zone, the REF36FDFIXNV and REF36FDFIXNB, and the RFD36FZNX and RFD36FZNW, E2 is the freezer temperature sensor message. The REF36FDFZXNT reports a failed sensor with a chime in locked mode. The other two platforms say the freezer room or chamber sensor has a problem, and the appliance can still cool and freeze. Treat the code as a sensor message rather than proof that the food has thawed.

Is the freezer still working with E2 on the display?

Yes. The freezer keeps working, and so does the refrigerator side. E2 only says the control cannot trust its freezer reading. Packages should stay hard, and a quick thermometer check confirms it.

How do I know if my frozen food is safe?

Check that it is hard and has no thawed liquid. A thermometer placed between packages should read 0F or lower. Soft, wet packages mean the freezer ran warm, and the food should be judged by how long.

Will you replace the sensor straight away?
