What Detection of Small Articles means

On the legacy Bertazzoni induction cooktops P304IX and P365IX, the pan sensor will not mistake a small object, such as a fork, a spoon or a piece of jewelry, for cookware. A zone with only a small item on it stays cold. If a pot or pan is removed entirely, the power output drops to zero at once, and the controls turn the element off after one minute. Owners see a zone that does not respond.

Common causes of Detection of Small Articles

A pan that is too small for the sensor
Only a utensil or small metal item on the zone
A pan taken away, so the element switched off after a minute

✓ One safe check you can try

1. Place a flat-bottomed magnetic pan of proper size fully on the zone. 2. Remove forks, spoons and jewelry from the cooking area. 3. If the element switched off after a minute, turn it back on with the pan in place. 4. If a correct pan is still ignored, try a second zone and call us if both fail.

Why does my cooktop ignore a spoon left on the zone?

The sensor is designed not to treat a fork, spoon or jewelry as a pan. That keeps small metal objects from heating up, and it is the intended behavior on the P365IX.

How long before an empty zone switches off?

When a pot is fully removed, output drops to zero instantly and the controls turn that element off after one minute. Returning the pan before the minute ends lets cooking go on.

What if my real pan is not detected?

Check that it is magnetic, flat and large enough. If a suitable pan still gets no heat on any zone, the sensing is not working as it should, and we would test the cooktop.
