On the legacy Bertazzoni induction cooktops P304IAE and P365IAE, E8 means the air inlet of the ventilator is obstructed. The instruction is to release it. Without clear airflow the cooktop cannot cool itself, so it stops heating. Owners see E8 after storing items below the cooktop or after the intake gets covered. The display shows E8 and the zones go cold.
1. Switch the cooktop off and let it cool. 2. Remove anything stored near or under the cooktop that could cover the intake. 3. Clear any visible dust or debris from the opening you can reach safely. 4. Turn it back on; if E8 returns, call us.
It is the opening that lets the ventilator draw cooling air through the cooktop. It sits under the unit, so cabinet contents or installation spacing can block it.
It is about airflow. The ventilator inlet is blocked, so cooling air cannot reach the electronics. Clearing it lets the cooktop cool and run again.
Then the fan or its sensing may be wrong. If E8 shows with a clear inlet, we would inspect the ventilator and the cooktop. Clear it first.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
