On the legacy Bertazzoni induction cooktop P365IME and on the radiant PE244CER and PE304CER, FA belongs to the F-letter family of key and keyboard errors. On the PE..CER it is a security key error in the on/off key emitter. Every heater is switched off and locked out. The owner sees FA on the display, the zones will not heat, and the controls do not respond to normal touches.
1. Make sure nothing, such as dirt, a cloth or liquid, is overlapping the control keys. 2. Wipe the control area clean and dry. 3. Switch the cooktop off at its breaker for about a minute, then restore power. 4. If FA appears again, leave the cooktop off and call us.
Not necessarily. For key errors the first step is to clear anything from the controls, then remove the power and restore it. Many times that clears the code. If it returns, the key circuit needs a technician.
On the radiant PE..CER, a security key error switches every heater off and locks them. It is a safety response, so the cooktop will not heat until the error is cleared.
Both are security key errors on the PE..CER. FA concerns the on/off key emitter, while FC concerns the receiver. We read the exact letter to know which side of the key circuit to test.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
