On Bertazzoni radiant (Hi-light) ceramic cooktops in the PE..CER range, such as the PE304CER and PE244CER, FP is a fan error shown on the heater display. The cooktop uses a fan to keep its electronics cool, and the control has noticed a problem with it. You may see FP along with reduced heating, or after long use at high settings.
1. Turn all heaters off and let the cooktop cool. 2. Open the cabinet below and remove anything that touches the underside of the cooktop. 3. Make sure vents are not covered by a drawer or a shelf. 4. Switch the cooktop off at its breaker for one minute, then back on. 5. If FP returns, call us.
Heat from the elements warms the electronics under the glass. The fan moves air across them to keep them within their limit. If it fails, the control reports FP.
Yes. Pans or boxes pressed against the underside can block airflow. Clear that space first, since it costs nothing and may be the whole answer.
We would not. The fan protects the control, so keep the cooktop off until it has been checked. We test the fan and give a written price first.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
